A Progressive, Hands-On Approach

Treatment may include:

  • Weight-bearing and standing activities
  • Walking and gait training
  • Balance and coordination exercises
  • Strength and endurance training
  • Functional mobility and transfer training
  • Repetitive, task-specific movement
  • Hands-on assistance and specialized equipment

Activities are selected and progressed according to your medical history, current abilities, safety needs, and personal goals. Outcomes vary, but consistent rehabilitation may help clients improve function, confidence, and quality of life.

Stroke Rehabilitation

After a stroke, physical therapy may help address changes in strength, balance, coordination, walking, endurance, and mobility. Once you have been medically stabilized and cleared for rehabilitation, our team will develop a treatment plan based on your specific challenges and recovery goals.

Know the Warning Signs of Stroke

A stroke is a medical emergency. Remember B.E. F.A.S.T.:
  • B — Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination
  • E — Eyes: Sudden vision changes
  • F — Face: Facial drooping or unevenness
  • A — Arms: Sudden arm weakness or numbness
  • S — Speech: Slurred speech or difficulty speaking
  • T — Time: Call 911 immediately
Other warning signs may include sudden confusion, numbness or weakness on one side of the body, difficulty walking, or a sudden severe headache.

Call 911 immediately if you notice even one possible stroke symptom. Do not drive to the clinic or wait to see whether the symptoms improve.
